A Rite of Passage

Ceremonies are important moments in our lives that signify an accomplishment and the entrance into a new phase of life. Think Wedding Ceremony, Graduation Ceremony, Award Ceremony.

We want to communicate to our 7^th-12^th grade boys that they are members of THE FRATERNITY OF MEN! We want to be clear in defining what it means to be a Godly Man! This ceremony will take place on September 11, 2010 from 5pm-8pm. It is for all adult men and boys grades 7 to 12. These teenagers will participate in the actual Rite of Passage along with their dads. Those of us who do not have a teenage son will be there to encourage them!

   This Rite of Passage will include:

1)  Eating together                           2)  A testimony or two on what it      means to be a man                     3)  A vision for manhood                    4)  A code of conduct                         5)  A transcendent cause                 6)  The Father’s Oath                        7)  The Giving of the Cross

There is more, but I will save that for later. This evening is designed to be a meaningful experience for your sons to be encouraged and challenged to enter the journey of Biblical Manhood! Mark it down and plan on joining us!
